One of 1248 (approx. 700 convertibles) LT-1 Corvettes built in 1970 (1st year for the LT-1 option and highest HP rating) Original numbers matching 350 CID/ 370 HP engine w/ 11:1 compression, original "202" heads, factory spec hi-lift mech. camshaft, highly polished Original aluminum hi-rise intake manifold w/ New Holley780 CFM carb and K&N top flow air cleaner assembly, Hi-temp coated factory "rams horn" exhaust manifolds, Mallory Unilite mechanical tach drive distributor and Mallory Coil and 7mm hi-temp silicone plug wires, aluminum hi-flow water pump w/ a polished stainless steel flex fan. Most all of the external engine fasteners are either polished stainless steel or chrome plated. The oil pan, timing cover, bell housing, pulleys, starter, power steering pump, alternator and brackets are all chrome plated. Original numbers matching Muncie M21 4-speed transmission w/ Hurst shifter --- all professionally rebuilt Original numbers matching Independent Rear Suspension w/ factory 3:48 Posi-(rebuilt) - The factory steel rear spring (which I still have) has been replaced with a far superior TRW fiberglass mono-spring assembly w/ Monroe Sensa-Trac gas shocks and new Vette Brake Products H.D. strut rod adjusters. The car has an excellent ride and drive. We literally left no bolt untouched during the restoration and did our best to put the car back to a like-new condition. The frame was stripped and cleaned and painted with Eastwood's 2-part epoxy Extreme Chassis Black paint. We built the car like we wanted it and that included numerous upgrades that we felt added to the car's performance, reliability and comfort. Those upgrades included new Stainless Steel drilled and slotted rotors w/ new Duntov Corvette brake calipers, stainless steel trailing arm shims, stainless steel parking brake assemblies, Derale hi-perf. auxilary electric cooling fan, PST polyurethane trailing arm bushings, spring bushings, strut rod bushings and rear differential bushings and cushions. The complete front suspension was also rebuilt with new Moog upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, power steering slave cylinder and hoses, new upper and lower control arm bushings, new HD PST front coil springs w/ KYB hi-perf. gas shocks, new steering gear box and rag joint, new HD u-joints for the driveshaft and half shafts and complete hi-temp coated exhaust system. All suspension components were also painted with black epoxy chassis paint. The 1970 LT-1 Corvettes were not available with air conditioning. This option did not become available for LT-1 cars until 1972, so I bought a complete A/C system from a wrecked 1972 Corvette and restored it for installation in my car. The entire A/C system was rebuilt with new seals in the evaporator case, new heater core, new compressor and expansion valve, new condenser and drier and hoses. The old style POA valve was replaced with a POA eliminator assembly and a hi-temp switch and then charged with R22 refrigerant. I really couldn't say how well it works because I've only turned it on one time, right after it was charged and it blew cold. The car has a beautiful bright Monza red bc/cc paint job with just a few very minor blemishes and chips, mostly on the lower front spoiler and lower nose area. The fiberglass front spoiler is a piece I added to the car, partly to aid with engine cooling, but mostly for looks. I tried to use as many of the original pieces of the car as possible and replaced the unusable items with correct NOS items or restored original items. All of the emblems, stainless trim and door handles are restored originals, the front bumper is original and in good shape w/ just a few very minor scratches and the rear bumpers are re-chromed originals and are beautiful pieces.
